[{"type":"text","content":"\n Borders & Southern Petroleum plc\n14 February 2008\n\n\nFor release: 14th February 2008\n\n\n Borders & Southern Petroleum plc\n\n 'Borders & Southern' or 'the Company'\n\n\n Completion of 3D Seismic Acquisition\n\n\nBorders & Southern Petroleum plc is pleased to announce the successful\ncompletion of its 3D seismic acquisition programme within its Production\nLicences south of the Falkland Islands.\n\nPetroleum Geo Services (PGS), using their vessel Ocean Explorer, acquired a\ntotal of 1492 square kilometres of full fold seismic data. This is the largest\n3D survey to be acquired in the Falkland Islands to date and represents one of\nthe most southerly 3D surveys in the world. The data was acquired without HSE\nincident, ahead of schedule and within budget.\n\nIn addition to acquiring the seismic data, the Company had an onboard marine\nmammal observer to record wildlife activity. This data, together with the\noceanographic measurements undertaken, will be incorporated into the Company's\nEnvironmental Impact Assessment.\n\nThe processing contract for the 3D seismic has been awarded to PGS and testing\nof the data has already commenced. The full processing is anticipated to take\napproximately 5 months, however a fast track product will be delivered earlier.\n\nCommenting on the survey Howard Obee, CEO of Borders & Southern, said: 'We are\ndelighted to have finished the 3D acquisition ahead of schedule. Thanks are due\nto PGS along with our onboard QCs.
