(TSX: BLU)\n (\"BELLUS Health\" or the \"Company\") reported today its financial results\n for the third quarter ended September 30, 2011.\n\n\n\"We are very pleased with the progress made over the last few months\"\n said Roberto Bellini, President and Chief Executive Officer of BELLUS\n Health. \"Patient recruitment for KIACTA™, our lead drug candidate now\n in its global confirmatory Phase III clinical trial, is progressing. We\n are also very pleased with the work of our distribution partners for\n VIVIMIND™.  The launch in Italy has been a success and we look forward\n to the launch in Canada and Middle East shortly. We also continue to\n search for high quality partnerships to further expand VIVIMIND™'s\n distribution footprint.\"\n\n\nOperating Highlights\n\n●\n\n\nDuring the quarter, BELLUS Health and its strategic partner Celtic\n Therapeutics (\"Celtic\") continued recruitment for the global\n confirmatory Phase III clinical trial for KIACTA™. The trial is\n designed to confirm the safety and efficacy of KIACTA™ in preventing\n renal function decline in patients diagnosed with AA amyloidosis. It\n will involve approximately 230 patients enrolled from approximately 72\n sites in 27 countries. Patient recruitment is estimated to be completed\n in mid-2012. It is currently expected that the trial will be completed\n in 2014.\n\n\n●\n\n\nAs previously announced, the Company recently signed licensing\n agreements for the marketing and distribution of VIVIMIND™ in Italy,\n Canada, and certain countries in the Middle East.\n\n\n \n\n\nItaly\n\n\n \n\n\n●\n\n\nFB Health LLC (\"FB Health\"), exclusive distributor for VIVIMIND™ in\n Italy, is strongly encouraged by market response to the newly available\n product. In the first seven months it has been on the market, VIVIMIND™\n has surpassed sales expectations, having reached aggregate consumer\n sales of over 1 million dollars in Italy. On October 1st, 2011, FB Health launched Viviflux™, a natural health product\n containing homotaurine, the active ingredient in VIVIMIND™, aimed at\n maintaining and promoting healthy neuronal activity and at reducing the\n risk of ischemic events.\n\n\n \n\n\nCanada\...
