[{"type":"text","content":"\n \nRNS Number : 9694T Bloomsbury Publishing PLC 09 July 2018  \n\n9 July 2018\nBLOOMSBURY PUBLISHING Plc\n(\"Bloomsbury\")\n \nBloomsbury Author Wins The Golden Man Booker Prize\n-      The English Patient by Michael Ondaatje wins prestigious award - \n-      Bloomsbury authors made up 40% of The Golden Man Booker Prize shortlist - \n \nAt the Golden Man Booker Live awards ceremony held at London's Southbank Centre last night, Sunday 8th July, Bloomsbury is delighted to announce that following a public vote to decide the winner, The English Patient by Michael Ondaatje won the prestigious Golden Man Booker Prize.\n \nThe Golden Man Booker Prize, a special one-off award for Man Booker Prize's 50th anniversary celebrations, last night crowned the best work of fiction from the last five decades of the prize. Two of the five books nominated were published by Bloomsbury, demonstrating the publisher's incredibly talented roster of authors that spans over fifty years, and whose timeless works remain deeply loved by readers. \n \nAll 51 previous winners were considered by a panel of five specially appointed judges, each assigned a decade to read the winning novels from before choosing a favourite from the period.
