About this update from Blackbird Plc

[{"type":"text","content":"\n Forbidden Technologies PLC\n05 September 2007\n\n5 September 2007\n\n\n\nForbidden provides broadcast quality video output from its web video tool,\nFORscene\n\n\n\nWeb-based video editing comes of age\n\n\n\nWeb video specialists Forbidden Technologies plc is launching FORscene DV, a\nbroadcast quality upload and export capability for its collaborative web-based\nediting and publishing platform, at IBC 2007.\n\n\n\nThe Directors believe that this is the first application of its kind - browse\nquality is uploaded from location and edited centrally by experts; the FORscene\nDV system then uploads at broadcast quality those video frames used in the final\nedit and reconstructs the programme for download by broadcasters.\n\n\n\nThis continues the trend towards browser based applications such as search,\nauctions, retail, information resources and social networking. FORscene DV\nenables professionals to edit broadcast items shot on location with entirely\nweb-based tools.\n\n\n\nCurrently, three ways to get video back from location for broadcast have been\nto:\n\n\n\n(1) use an expensive high speed link such as a satellite;\n\n(2) wait for a courier or slow electronic connection; and\n\n(3) use journalists to edit the video on location.\n\n\n\nThe Directors believe that FORscene DV avoids some of the pitfalls with these\nmethods. The process avoids the wasteful upload of unused footage at broadcast\nquality, saving time and cost. It also avoids the need to provide local editing\nsoftware and expertise. It has become viable with advances in internet speeds\nand tools.\n\n\n\nThe application is of particular relevance in time critical reporting, such as\nnews. On location journalists with a DV camera can concentrate on filming,\nleaving the video editing to professionals who have access to the wider context,\nas well as library footage. In addition, companies selling video footage can\ngive browse access for shot selection. Having chosen video material, customers\ncan download the broadcast quality clips through the web interface.\n\n\n\nFor further information please contact:\n\nStephen B.
