FORscene takes video directly from mobile phones
Forbidden Technologies has today launched an upgrade to its FORscene video
sharing platform to allow video to be input directly from mobile phones.
Forbidden is demonstrating this new capability at Stand 2.110 at IBC2005,
Europe's leading broadcast show, in Amsterdam, from 9 to 13 September.
Video originated on mobile phones can be uploaded over the air to FORscene,
combined with other content, including shots from video libraries, and published
back to mobile phones and the web.
Stephen Streater, Chief Executive of Forbidden Technologies said:
'The ability of any of us to edit and publish videos shot on mobile phones
quickly and easily is a major step in our mission to make video universally
accessible as a method of personal communication. This also makes is much easier
for broadcasters to edit and publish the thousands of shots they may get from
members of the public on their new camera phones.
'Launching this at IBC2005, Europe's largest broadcast show with 45,000
visitors, gives us the opportunity to attract a sophisticated audience of early
adopters. We look forward to working with our clients and partners to turn this
capability into a ground-breaking new service, both for consumers and
broadcasters.'
