[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\nLISTING:  TORONTO STOCK EXCHANGE\nSYMBOL:  BDT\n\n\nTORONTO, Aug. 28, 2014 /CNW/ - Bird Construction Inc. today announces\n that Mr. Tim Talbott, P.Eng., President & CEO, is planning to retire\n from the Company effective December 31, 2014 after 33 years of service\n with the organization.  Mr. Talbott began his career with Bird\n Construction in Edmonton as a project co-ordinator and progressively\n took on more responsible roles in the district before moving to\n Winnipeg as the District Manager in 1992 for close to 10 years.  In\n 2001, he relocated to the Toronto corporate office to assume executive\n operational roles which culminated with his appointment as President &\n CEO in 2010.\n\n\nThe Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Ian Boyd, P.Eng., as President & CEO effective January 1, 2015.  Mr. Boyd joined Rideau\n Construction in 1996 as a project coordinator after successfully\n completing his civil engineering degree at the University of New\n Brunswick.  He was promoted to Manager of the small projects division\n and later to the position of Halifax District Manager.  He was a\n partner in Rideau and participated in the transaction when the company\n was acquired by Bird in February of 2008.  Mr. Boyd assumed the role of\n Project Director for the Bird Graham Schools Joint Venture, a large\n public private partnership project in Alberta executed by the Company.\n After completion of the project, he returned to New Brunswick to assume\n the role of Vice President of Bird's Atlantic operations.  After being\n involved in the Company's acquisition and integration of H.J.\n O'Connell, Mr. Boyd undertook the position of Executive Vice President\n and COO in 2013.  Mr. Boyd's exposure to all facets of the Company's\n business and the respect that he has earned within the industry will\n serve him well in the role he will be undertaking.\n\n\nOn behalf of the Board of Directors, Mr. Paul Charette, Chairman, stated\n \"The Company appreciates Mr. Talbott's dedication and service to Bird\n throughout his career, and in particular, his leadership over the last\n five years.  We wish him and his family all the best in the future.\" \n Mr. Charette further commented that, \"The Board looks forward to\n working with Mr. Boyd in his new ...
