Bird has a 50% interest in the construction joint venture that will design and build the project. Bird has also taken a minority equity interest in the concession responsible for the design, construction, financing, operations and maintenance of the project through Bird Capital, a wholly owned subsidiary. On December 12, 2017, the Company had announced that it was part of the consortium named preferred proponent for the project. The consortium has since achieved financial close.\n\nThe Facility will be located at the Hartland Landfill in Saanich, British Columbia, and is part of the CRD's Wastewater Treatment Project. The Facility will process the residual waste material from the McLoughlin Point Wastewater Treatment Plant to meet environmental regulatory requirements. The Facility will have capacity to treat over fourteen thousand dry tonnes of residuals per year over the 20-year term of the contract.\n\nBird expects construction to commence in the spring of 2018.
