(\"Big Rock\") (TSX:BR) – Submissions are now open for The 2016 Big Rock Eddies Short Film Festival. The theme for the 2016 festival is \"trailblazer\". How you interpret the word, and what film genre you select is entirely up to you. You can shoot live-action, animation, stop-motion, use actors, cut-outs, puppets or animals. Horror, sci-fi, fantasy, comedy or even a musical. There are no restrictions on content or creativity. You have 3 – 5 minutes to create a complete mini-tale, with a beginning, a middle and an end. \n\nNo beer placement is required and Eddies submissions remain eligible for other festival circuits. 1st, 2nd and 3rd awards are among the highest paying cash prizes in North America for a short film ($10,000, $5,000, $2,500).\n\nFor the 23rd year of this event, our theme is inspired by our founder, Ed McNally. Ed's vision was to create a craft brewery long before many had ever seen one, or heard such a term. A true trailblazer, Ed decided he wanted to make great beer in the same European style he had experienced on his travels across the world, here in Canada.
