(TSX: BYL) (the \"Company\" or \"Baylin\") today announced that its subsidiary, Alga Microwave Inc. (\"Alga\"), has signed a supply agreement with a global Tier 1 satellite and terrestrial telecommunications network provider to supply over $5 million of its C-Band 5G Filters.\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \nThe  supply agreement is part of a seven-month program involving Tier 1 network providers of satellites and ground infrastructure for the purpose of creating, delivering and managing video and data solutions for their world-wide customers. Deliveries are expected to commence in June 2020.\nRandy Dewey, President and CEO of Baylin, stated, \"Baylin purchased the Alga business in July 2018 in large part because Alga is a unique leader in the SatCom industry since it provides both state of the art active RF/microwave products and designs and manufactures a full range of passive microwave components. With 5G networks commencing deployment globally, filter technology will be increasingly critical. Telecommunications providers will need partners who have the expertise to provide custom solutions for their technological challenges. Alga is an established leader in this field and with its current 5G filter developments can efficiently supply quality products for large scale telecommunications deployments.\" \nAlga's C-band 5G filters are applicable for both the satellite communications market and the wireless telecommunications market. Traditionally C-Band (3.8-4.2 GHz) is used for satellite services, radar and microwave links. With the introduction of 5G networks, these C-band frequencies will now be shared with a wider range of services. The resulting interference signals can be powerful enough to saturate the sensitive C-Band satellite receiving systems which may result in total loss of service. Alga's...
