BATM was competing in the bid with the leading players in the \ntelecom arena and was awarded the contract after the most rigorous examination \nby the customer of all of its aspects.\n\n\nDr. Zvi Marom, the CEO of BATM commented: 'We are thrilled to win such a major\ncontract - potentially, by far, the largest in the history of the company. The new contract will greatly strengthen our strategic ties with an\nextremely important customer and will continue the momentum to create additional\nopportunities and to significantly increase BATM's growth prospects in the\nmedium and long-term'\n\nThe award provides for BATM to supply telecom grade equipment which enables\nmassive capacity of switching and routing including full IPV6, strict elements\nof traffic shaping and quality of service. The innovative equipment can handle\nvoice, video and data channels at a very high speed of 10Gbps simultaneously.\n\nThe current solution provided by BATM is based on the most advanced telecom\narchitecture available in the market. BATM believes that it is the first\ncompany in the world able to demonstrate the full availability and utilization\nof such technology for end users. Using this technology enables a level of\nreliability, flexibility, modularity and price points never available before.\n\nThe pilot, utilizing BATM's equipment, is expected to run during 2006-2007, with\nfull scale deployment starting in 2008.\n\nWhilst no firm value can be attributed to the contract at this stage, BATM\nestimates that,once full-scale deployment commences, it will have a substantial\nimpact on sales (likely to amount to several tens of millions of US dollars and\nin excess of $10 million annually) and future pr...
