Pacific concludes 2007 drill program - Results of final 4 holes - and plans 2008 Crack Moly drill program

TSX-V: PCV

VANCOUVER, Jan. 28 /CNW/ - Pacific Cascade Minerals Inc. announces the results from drill holes numbers CM07-06 to CM07-09 inclusive, completed on the Crack Moly Project located northeast of Harrison Lake, BC. These holes are the final in a series of nine holes completed during the Phase I and partially completed Phase II 2007 drill programs.

The holes were drilled to test the eastern margins of a deep-seated conductive zone defined by the company's 2005 Induced Polarization (IP) survey, which indicates chargeable zones extending to depths of approximately 500-600 metres below surface. All holes successfully intersected molybdenite mineralization occurring as disseminations, fracture filling, quartz-molybdenite veins and coarse-grained rosettes.

Hole CM07-06 returned a weighted average of 0.029% Mo over 108.48 metres, including 0.062% Mo over 15.00 metres. Hole CM07-07 intersected higher grade Mo over narrow intervals, including 0.217% Mo over 1.50 metres and 0.249% Mo over 1.50 metres. Hole CM07-08 was similar to hole 7, with higher grade Mo over narrow intervals, including 0.10% Mo over 1.43 metres. This hole had higher silver values than any other holes drilled to date, including 10.4 g/t Ag over 1.51 metres. Hole CM07-09 intersected lower-grade Mo over moderate intervals, including 0.030% Mo over 19.04 metres and 0.017% Mo over 42.63 metres. A summary of the significant results is presented in the accompanying table.

Notes:

- core size is BQTK (equivalent to B-thinwall).
- sample intervals are generally 1.0-2.0 metres in length.
- values reported are from ICP and assay data by Eco Tech Labs in
Kamloops, BC and are core length intercepts, not true width. Values
reported are Mo, not MoS2 and all samples reporting greater than
500ppm from ICP analysis are assayed.

Hole CM07-06 was collared from the same site as hole CM07-05, as a vertical hole to test visually favourable mineralization seen in hole CM07-05. The hole intersected molybdenite mineralization throughout its length, with the better results in the upper 100 metres, assaying 0.029% Mo over 108.48 metres from 1.52 to 110.00 metres.

Hole CM07-07 was collared at an azimuth of 180 degrees and a dip of -60 degrees, approximately halfway between hole CM07-03 and CM07-05/06. The upper portion of the hole was mineralized, averaging 0.025% Mo over 44.18 metres from 1.82 to 46.00 metres, including higher grade intercepts of 0.097% Mo over 4.50 metres and 0.217% Mo over 1.50 metres.

Hole CM07-08 was collared at an azimuth of 360 degrees and a dip of -76 degrees, approximately 125 metres west of hole CM07-01/02. The hole was targeting an IP chargeability anomaly with both low and high resistivity features. The hole intersected broad zones of low-grade molybdenite mineralization with some narrow, higher-grade zones, including 0.106% Mo over 1.43 metres. This hole encountered low but elevated silver values throughout much of its length and may indicate a change in the mineralizing solutions as silver is elevated relative to the other eight holes completed in 2007.

Hole CM07-09 was collared as a vertical hole, approximately 82 metres northwest of hole CM07-08; the target was a near surface chargeability anomaly on the margins of a larger, deeper seated conductor that could not be tested with the drill available. The hole intersected moderately anomalous molybdenite mineralization in the middle portion of the hole, with results of 0.030% Mo over 19.04 metres, including 0.060% Mo over 4.42 metres, and a lower zone averaging 0.017% Mo over 42.63 metres.

The company is pleased with the fact that all holes drilled intersected molybdenite mineralization. The strongest IP chargeability conductor, at a depth of 500 metres below surface, remains to be tested as the drill available was not capable of reaching this depth. As a result the Company focused its efforts on the nearer surface targets. The IP survey indicates the large conductor remains open to the west. Work planned for 2008 is to expand the IP survey to fully resolve the deep-seated target prior to drill testing this target, and to follow-up through drilling the anomalous results received from holes CM07-01-03 and 05 the results of which were previously disclosed as follows:

Additional conductive zones are indicated approximately 200-400 metres below the bottom of hole CM07-05, the company intends on testing these targets at a later date with a larger drill. The nine (9) completed drill holes cover a strike length of approximately 700 metres. Preliminary indications are that the mineralization is increasing to both the north and west, approaching the deep conductive zones that will be the focus of the next phase of diamond drilling.
