[{"type":"text","content":"Baru Gold Update On Successful Final Appeal of Lawsuit\n \n \n (TheNewswire)\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n January 9 2023, TheNewswire,\n \n \n Baru\nGold Corp\n \n \n (\n \n \n TSXV:\n \n \n BARU\n \n \n ) (OTC:\n \n \n BARUF\n \n \n )\n \n \n (\n \n \n the “Company” or “Baru”) wishes to\nprovide an update on the lawsuit originally filed in Manado, Indonesia\n(the “Manado Lawsuit”) in October 2021 against two government\ndepartments responsible for the issuance of the Environmental Permit\n(“AMDAL”) to Baru’s subsidiary, PT Tambang Mas Sangihe\n(“TMS”). While TMS was not named in the Manado Lawsuit, the court\ngranted permission for a representative of TMS to attend the\nproceedings in support of the government departments.\n \n \n \n \n The Manado Lawsuit has now been reviewed at each level\nof Indonesia’s judicial system. A panel of judges heard the case at\nthe Manado Administrative District Court in June 2022, Makassar\nAdministrative High Court in September 2022 and, most recently, the\nSupreme Court of Indonesia.\n \n \n \n \n Today, the Company is happy to report that the Supreme\nCourt of Indonesia has ruled in favour of the Company. The validity of\nthe process, procedures and the awarding of the AMDAL have been\nreaffirmed and the plaintiff’s complaints dismissed in their\nentirety. The ruling can no longer be appealed; the decision is\nfinal.\n \n \n \n \n The AMDAL is necessary for the Company’s operations.\nObtaining an AMDAL is an expensive and time-consuming process that\ninvolves broad community consultation and establishes a set of high\nenvironmental standards.
