[{"type":"text","content":"Baru Gold Successfully Appeals Lawsuit Filed in Makassar and Provides Update on Lawsuit Filed in Jakarta\n \n \n (TheNewswire)\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Vancouver, BC –\n \n \n TheNewswire –\nSeptember 16, 2022 -\n \n \n Baru Gold Corp\n \n \n (\n \n \n TSXV:\n \n \n BARU\n \n \n )\n \n \n |\n \n \n (\n \n \n OTC:BARUF\n \n \n )\n \n \n (the\n“Company” or “Baru”) wishes to provide an update on the appeal\nof a lawsuit\n \n \n filed\n \n \n in\nMakassar\n \n \n , Indonesia (the “Makassar Lawsuit”)\n \n \n against two government departments\n \n \n responsible for the issuance of the Environmental Permit\n(“AMDAL”) to Baru’s subsidiary, PT Tambang Mas Sangihe\n(“TMS”).\n \n \n \n \n The Makassar Lawsuit was filed in October 2021 against\nthe North Sulawesi Province Government Head of Investment and One Stop\nIntegrated Services of North Sulawesi and Head of Environmental\nDepartment of North Sulawesi pertaining to the issuance of the AMDAL\nto TMS in 2020. While TMS was not named in the Makassar Lawsuit, the\ncourt granted permission for a representative of TMS to attend the\nproceedings in support of the government departments. In June 2022,\njudgement was issued in favor of the plaintiff (see news release dated\nJune 28, 2022). In response, the ruling was appealed and on September\n7, 2022, TMS was successful in having the June ruling overturned.\n \n \n \n \n Update on the Ministry of Energy and\nMineral Resources Lawsuit\n \n \n \n \n In a news release dated September 6, 2022, the Company\nprovided an update on a lawsuit filed in Jakarta, Indonesia in June\n2021 (the “Jakarta Lawsuit”), against the Ministry of Energy and\nMineral Resources (the “MEMR”), the government department\nresponsible for issuing the operational mining permit to TMS. While\nTMS was not named in the Jakarta Lawsuit, the court granted permission\nfor a representative of TMS to attend the proceedings in support of\nMEMR.\n \n \n \n \n In April 2022, the Jakarta Lawsuit was dismissed.
