[{"type":"text","content":"Baru Gold Provides Update on Appeal Filed Against Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in Indonesia\n \n \n (TheNewswire)\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n September 6, 2022 – TheNewswire -\n \n \n Vancouver, BC – Baru Gold Corp (the “Company” or\n“Baru”)\n \n \n (\n \n \n TSXV:\n \n \n BARU\n \n \n )\n \n \n |\n \n \n (\n \n \n OTC:BARUF\n \n \n )\n \n \n wishes to provide\nan update on the appeal of a lawsuit\n \n \n filed in\nJakarta, Indonesia\n \n \n on June 23, 2021,\n \n \n against the Ministry of Energy and Mineral\nResources (the “MEMR”), the government department which issued the\noperational mining permit to\n \n \n Baru’s\nsubsidiary, PT Tambang Mas Sangihe (“TMS”).\n \n While Baru was\nnot named in the lawsuit, the court granted permission for a\nrepresentative of Baru to attend the proceedings in support of MEMR,\nas it relates to the mining permit that was granted to TMS.\n \n \n On April 20, 2022, the lawsuit against the MEMR was dismissed. On May\n9, 2022, the plaintiff filed an appeal and on September, 2, 2022, the\nappeal was successful and the April ruling was overturned.\n \n \n The reasons for the decision have not yet been released. The Company\nwill be holding meetings with the MEMR this week to discuss this\nrecent court decision and the next steps required to ensure the\nCompany continues towards our goal of completion of construction and\nstart of production on the project.\n \n \n Terry Filbert, CEO of Baru Gold, commented “\n \n It is important to note that this decision\nonly pertains to the operational mining permit issued in February of\n 2021. TMS continues to hold a valid Contract of Work (“CoW”)\nwith the Indonesian government which remains unaffected by the\ndecision against the MEMR.
