Tambang Mas Sangihe\n(“TMS”) or the “Company”) is happy to announce to stakeholders\nand investors that the industrial-scale, illegal mining operations on\nSangihe Island have stopped.\n \n \n \n \n As of February 10, 2023, all known illegal mines on\nSangihe Island are no longer operating. The illegal miners, virtually\nall non-residents, left Sangihe Island en masse. Their remaining\npieces of heavy equipment are being moved off the worksites.  As\nmentioned in our press release of January 11, 2023, the Company\nbelieves these events are directly related to the Police Chief of\nNorth Sulawesi (Kapolda) Setyo’s mission to end illegal mining\nacross the entire region. Unfortunately, illegal miners have not\nundertaken any environmental remediation and left their worksites\ncontaminated.\n \n \n \n \n The Company is the only entity legally permitted to\noperate a gold mine on Sangihe Island.\n \n \n \n \n We wish to stress to shareholders the importance of\nending illegal mining on Sangihe Island. Virtually every difficulty\nand delay faced can be tied directly or indirectly to illegal miners\nthat have a vested financial interest in preventing the Company from\noperating. Illegal miners have also spent significant sums of money to\nfund media campaigns, lawsuits, and protests that have resulted in\nphysical attacks on and blockage of the Company’s equipment and\nstaff. The departure of illegal miners is a win for the Company, local\nSangihe residents, the environment, and Indonesia.\n \n \n \n \n Mr. Terry Filbert, CEO of Baru Gold, commented,\n \n \n “For too long, Sangihe\nIsland has been held hostage by a few individuals using the Island’s\nresources to enrich themselves and corrupt the social fabric and\nenvironment. The illegal miners brought nothing but corruption,\nviolence, and environmental destruction.  The gold on Sangihe should\nbe used to provide lasting positive social and economic changes on the\nIsland &...
