[{"type":"text","content":"\n Banco Comercial Portugues S.A.\n31 July 2003\n\nFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE\n JULY 31, 2003\n\n\n ANNOUNCEMENT OF CANCELLATION OF LISTINGS\n\n\nLisbon, July 31, 2003 - In accordance with article 248 of the Portuguese\nSecurities Code, Banco Comercial Portugues Board of Directors (BCP, NYSE:BPC,\nLSE: BCG) hereby announces that after carefully reviewing all the implications\nregarding the simultaneous maintenance of its foreign listings (New York Stock\nExchange,'NYSE', London Stock Exchange, 'LSE', Frankfurt Stock Exchange, 'FSE'\nand Euronext Amsterdam) has decided to initiate the application to de-list its\nAmerican Depositary Shares (''ADSs'') from the New York Stock Exchange (the ''\nNYSE''), and its common shares from the London Stock Exchange, Frankfurt Stock\nExchange and Euronext Amsterdam, considering that, among other aspects, the\nmajority of trading in BCP's ordinary shares takes place in Euronext Lisbon and\nthat the full merger of Lisbon Stock Exchange into the pan-european Euronext N.V\nwill contribute to significantly increase the trading of BCP shares at an\ninternational level.\n\nThe expected date for effective cancellation of the above mentioned listings\nwould be the following: New York Stock Exchange ('NYSE') and London Stock\nExchange ('LSE') - September 15 2003; Frankfurt Stock Exchange ('FSE') -\nNovember 17 2003.\n\nIn regard to Euronext Amsterdam Stock Exchange the cancellation date will be\ndecided and announced by this entity.\n\n\n\nBanco Comercial Portugues\nEnd of Announcement.\n\n\n\n\n This information is provided by RNS\n The company news service from the London Stock Exchange \n ","length":1803,"tagName":"div"}]
