BAE Systems plc announced the appointment of John Pettigrew as a non-executive director, effective February 23, 2026; he will also join the Audit and Risk Committee on the same date. Pettigrew, the current Chief Executive Officer at National Grid plc since 2016, is scheduled to step down from that role on November 16, 2025. Mr Pettigrew will also become a member of the Audit and Risk Committee from the same date.\n\nMr Pettigrew is currently the Chief Executive Officer at National Grid plc, having been appointed in 2016. He is scheduled to step down from that role on 16 November 2025. Mr Pettigrew joined National Grid as a graduate trainee in 1991 and during his time there held a variety of senior roles, including UK Director of Engineering, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President for the US Electricity Distribution & Generation business, Chief Operating Officer for UK Gas Distribution, and UK Chief Operating Officer. He joined the National Grid Board as Executive Director, UK in 2014.\nJohn is also the Senior Independent Director of Rentokil Initial plc.\nCressida Hogg, Chair, said:\n\"I am delighted that John has agreed to join the Board.
