The customer is a large construction\naggregate plant that operates 10 high horsepower Secondary Crusher Drive Motors\nand associated conveyor belts, producing 600 tons of product per hour. The\ncustomer’s cost of operations was substantially magnified by unplanned and\nunscheduled maintenance for their very expensive equipment. \n\nThey contacted Advantech B+B\nSmartWorx hoping to implement a Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) sensor system\nthat would allow them to continually monitor the motors in real time, apply\nanalytics to detect changes in motor behavior before breakdown or failure, and\nalert maintenance staff via text or email to perform preventative maintenance\nand avoid costly shutdowns. \n\nThe dashboards used to monitor\nthe real time sensor data were created using B-Scada’s Status Device Could platform,\nan open IoT platform that allows data from various sources to be consolidated\nin a virtual model for visualization, analysis, and automation.
