[{"type":"text","content":"\n Avon Rubber PLC\n14 September 2007\n\n\n 14 September 2007\n Avon Rubber p.l.c.\n ('Avon')\n\n Avon Rubber signs multi million pound MoU to supply respiratory protection\n systems to Turkish Armed Forces\n\nAvon Rubber p.l.c. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding ('MoU') with MKEK, a\nleading Turkish defence systems manufacturer, and ETIRC, a Turkish defence and\nsecurity solutions company.\n\nUnder the MoU, signed at this week's Defence Systems & Equipment International\nexhibition ('DSEi'), the three partners will work together on a multi-million\npound project to provide personal respiratory protection technologies to the\nTurkish Armed Forces.\n\nThe agreement allows for provision of a wide range of Avon's unique protection\ntechnologies to Turkey. This will involve manufacture in Turkey of Avon\nrespirators and filters for provision to the Turkish Armed Forces.\n\nCommenting on the agreement, Terry Stead, Chief Executive of Avon Rubber, said:\n\n'We are excited about this significant opportunity based on our existing FM12\ntechnology. It could lead to orders in the region of a million masks over a\nperiod of up to ten years, commencing within the next 18 months.
