He spent 17 years with GEC-Marconi where he\nheld a number of senior appointments before joining Chemring Group plc in 1987.\n\nDavid is now a Non-Executive Director of Chemring Group plc, having previously\nbeen their Chief Executive during 6 years of significant growth. He is also a\nNon-Executive Director of Whatman PLC. David is a Companion of the Chartered\nInstitute of Management and has been a member of the Executive Committee of the\nDefence Manufacturers' Association for the last 9 years.\n\nCommenting upon the appointment, Chairman, Sir Richard Needham said:\n\n'David brings a wealth of experience from the defence and related industries and\nof leading a company through a period of substantial growth.
