[{"type":"text","content":"\n RNS Number : 2662X Avon Rubber PLC 23 June 2008 \n \nPRESS RELEASE\n\n23 June 2008\nAVON RUBBER p.l.c.\n('Avon', the 'Group' or the 'Company')\nBOARD AND SENIOR MANAGEMENT APPOINTMENTS\nAvon Rubber p.l.c. is pleased to announce the appointment to the Board of Andrew Lewis as Group Finance Director with effect from 8 September 2008.\nHe joins the Company from Rotork p.l.c., where he is Group Financial Controller, having previously been a Director in PricewaterhouseCoopers' Bristol office.\nAndrew, aged 36, holds a joint honours degree in Mathematics and Accounting from the University College of North Wales, Bangor and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.\nThere is no information which requires disclosure under paragraph 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules in relation to Andrew Lewis.\nThe Company also wishes to announce the appointment of Matthew Evans to the position of Rest of World Sales and Marketing Director within the Protection and Defence business, with effect from 4 August 2008. This role will cover non-USA markets and he will report directly to Peter Slabbert, CEO. \nMatthew joins the Company from BAE Systems p.l.c. where he is currently the Executive Vice President for International Sales and Marketing for Eastern Europe and North Africa. He brings with him a wealth of experience, having spent time not only at BAE Systems but also GEC Marconi and British Aerospace.\n The CEO, Peter Slabbert, commented:\n'I am delighted to welcome Andrew Lewis onto the Board as Group Finance Director. His background and experience will bring significant added value to Avon Rubber. I also welcome Matthew Evans as a member of the management team.
