[{"type":"text","content":"\n RNS Number : 2626A Avingtrans PLC 06 October 2009 \n \nEmbargoed Release: 6 October 2009\n\nAvingtrans plc\n('Avingtrans')\n\nSubsidiary Crown International secures £1.25m contracts\n\nAvingtrans plc (AIM:AVG), the designer, manufacturer and supplier of critical components and associated services to the energy, medical, industrial and global aerospace sectors, is pleased to announce that Crown International Ltd ('Crown'), a wholly owned subsidiary, has received an order from Balfour Beatty worth £1.25 million.\n\nThe new order is for 30 large Verge Mounted Poles, which will form an important part of the M4 motorway Variable Speed Limit Project being implemented between junctions 25 and 28 before May 2010. The poles are a completely new design mounting an MS4 sign and are capable of being lowered and rotated which is a significant new function designed to reduce maintenance costs. The new poles represent a major innovation in roadside furniture and have been approved by the Welsh Assembly. \n\nIn addition, Crown will be supplying a further 14 smaller poles for Advanced Motorway Indicator signs situated on slip roads and gantry mounted signals. Balfour Beatty intends to enter the pole design as part of their tender for the England & Wales Managed Motorway Scheme.
