[{"type":"text","content":"\n \n1 April 2010\n\n Avingtrans plc \n\n (\"Avingtrans\") \n\n £8 million Contract Win and Award Win \n\nMetalcraft Contract Win\n\nAvingtrans (AIM:AVG), the designer, manufacturer and supplier of critical\ncomponents and associated services to the energy, medical, industrial and\nglobal aerospace sectors, is pleased to announce that its subsidiary,\nMetalcraft, has signed a contract with Cummins Generator Technology to supply\ngenerator casings across a range of products for their UK plant.\n\nThe contract, which is worth up to £8 million over a 3 year period, has enabled\nMetalcraft to make investments in a surface treatment and final finishing\nfacility which will also enhance its operational capabilities from the\nChatteris site.\n\nManufacture of the initial prototype and production units has already commenced\nsuccessfully and full volume production is on schedule to be achieved by Q3\nthis year.\n\nCrown International Award Win\n\nIn addition, Avingtrans is delighted to announce that its subsidiary, Crown\nInternational, a designer and manufacturer of leading pole and support\nfabrication units, has won First Prize in the Infrastructure Category at\nIntertraffic Amsterdam 2010.\n\nCrown International's winning `VMC' pole is a wind-up wind-down and round\ncantilever system, designed for simplified and safer maintenance of traffic\ninfrastructure, such as motorway Variable Message Signs.\n\nAwards Chairman Fred Wegman said: \"There is a good concept behind this pole, in\nterms of minimising the negative impact on road users from closing down lanes\nfor maintenance.
