[{"type":"text","content":"\n Avingtrans PLC\n22 February 2008\n\n\n AVINGTRANS PLC\n\n ('Avingtrans' or the 'Company')\n\n\n Appointment of Director\n\n\nAvingtrans plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Roger McDowell as\nNon-executive Director with immediate effect pending his appointment as\nNon-executive Chairman from March 10th 2008 on the retirement from the Board of\nKen Baker O.B.E.\n\n\nAfter University Roger worked for some 20 years with Oliver Ashworth Ltd., a\npipeline manufacturing, products and supplies company, of which he was\nsubsequently Managing Director. He was instrumental in growing sales from £1\nmillion to over £100 million and achieving a full listing on the London Stock\nExchange, before in 1998 selling the business successfully to a French\nindustrial company. Since then, Roger has held a number of non-executive\nappointments in both private, Official List and AIM quoted companies\npredominantly in the engineering sector.\n\n\nKen Baker, who communicated his intention to retire from Avingtrans plc 12\nmonths ago has been with Avingtrans for 6 years during which time he has\nmasterminded the Company's transition from a cash shell into the ambitious\nengineering group that it is today. The Board would like to thank Ken for his\ninvaluable contribution to the Company.
