(www.avantelogixx.com),   manufacturers of the innovative cellular-network based Avante NRG\n Smartboxx™ technology, have completed their energy management pilot  in\n homes across Ontario.  The pilot began in September 2010 and was\n commissioned by the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) to assess the impact\n of this leading demand response ("DR") solution with five leading\n Ontario Utilities.\n\n\nThe Avante NRG Smartboxx is designed for residential and small business\n customers to understand and reduce their energy use; improve energy\n efficiency; and save money by participating in time-of-use rate\n programs.  The Avante solution enabled the OPA to test most of their\n pilot requirements for Demand Response and Home Energy Management\n including remote meter reading, load control with smart plugs and\n remote temperature adjustment during peak energy periods.\n\n\nAvante  worked closely with the OPA and Ontario Utilities - Hydro One\n (Owen Sound), Toronto Hydro, Cambridge and North Dumfries Hydro,\n Kitchener Wilmot Hydro, and Waterloo North Hydro -  to configure and\n deploy the technology with their customers.
