[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\nTORONTO, July 24 /CNW/ - Roxmark Mines Limited (TSXV - RMK) (CNQ - RMKL)\ntoday announced that its geological team has started exploration work,\nincluding mapping, trenching and channel sampling of the various prospective\nzones, on newly acquired properties along strike from the Company's Northern\nEmpire Gold Mine Property.\n\n\nThe program is being carried out under the supervision of Qualified\nPerson, Peter Bevan, P.Eng. Its purpose is to evaluate the thesis that these\nzones represent the western extension of gold mineralization on the Northern\nEmpire property.\n\n\nThe target Lafontaine properties, which have excellent nearby\ninfrastructure, consist of 61 claims covering approximately 1,580 hectares in\nSummers Township, immediately west of the town of Beardmore, Ontario. They are\nunderlain by a series of sheared, mineralized mafic volcanic and banded iron\nformations. The main banded iron formation, a gold-bearing mineralized zone,\nis 400 metres long by 10 metres wide. Historical work completed on the\nproperty outlined 17 gold showings. Trenching and sampling carried out between\n1990 and 1994 uncovered new mineralized horizons containing pyrite, pyrrhotite\nand arsenopyrite. Grab samples yielded grades as high as 36.54 g/t at Buffalo\nBeardmore showing and 43.89 g/t at F showing. Historical work included\nairborne magnetometer and EM survey conducted by Terraquest Ltd. in 1986 and\n1989 as well as 24 diamond drill holes for a total of 3,082 metres completed\nby Explorations Minieres Du Nord Ltee in 1996-1997.\n\n\nHistorically, the Northern Empire Mine produced 149,053 ounces of gold\nfrom 425,866 tons with a recovery of 0.35 oz. in gold per ton. The mine was\nserviced by a shaft to 2,460 feet with development above and below a major\nflat diabase sill. Existing infrastructure on the property, including an\nupgraded and fully-permitted 200 tpd mill (expandable to 500 tpd), as well as\nthe mine's non-remote location, will reduce the cost of future development.\n\n\nAbout Roxmark Mines\n\n\nRoxmark Mines Limited is the leader in gold and molybdenum exploration\nand development in the historically significant Geraldton-Beardmore area of\nNorthwest Ontario.
