[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\nTORONTO, Aug. 18 /CNW Telbec/ - Roxmark Mines Limited (TSXV-RMK) today\nannounced that it has contracted with Firefly Aviation Ltd. to fly a\nhelicopter-borne High Resolution Aeromagnetic (HRAM) survey over the\nLeitch-Sand River Mine property. The 1,421 line-kilometre survey with 50-metre\nspacing is expected to be completed shortly and will assist in the\nidentification of mineralized structures that control known gold\nmineralization on the property.\n\n\nDepending on results of the survey, Roxmark plans a diamond drilling\nprogram on the property in the winter of 2009/10. The Leitch-Sand River Mine\nis located 10 kilometres from Roxmark's Northern Empire mill in Beardmore,\nOntario and encompasses the Leitch Mine, once Canada's richest.\n\n\nOperated continuously over a period of nearly 30 years and producing\n847,900 oz with an average ore grade of 0.92 ounces per ton, the Leitch Mine\nwas shut down in 1965 as a result of US$35/oz gold and boundary disputes which\nRoxmark has eliminated by acquiring the Sand River Mine. At just over 3,000\nfeet, The Leitch Mine was shallow by the standards of top producers in nearby\ncamps. It never ran out of gold at depth and both ore grade and vein width\nincreased with depth. Mining records of the time record several drill assays\nof more than two ounces per ton over 2 feet located 100 feet below the 30th\nlevel.\n\n\nAt the Northern Empire Mine, the drilling contractor has mobilized the\ndrill rig to begin 3,000 metres of planned drilling. The program is directed\nto test the new discovery of a high-grade zone identified by the 2008 HRAM\nsurvey and exposed by stripping and channel sampling. Positive results to date\nreturned values up to 36.4 g/t of gold. (For more details, please refer to\nnews releases of June 24 and July 23, 2009.)\n\n\nPeter Bevan, P. In addition to the Hardrock Project in the Geraldton Camp,\nRoxmark is pursuing a number of initiatives in the Beardmore Camp, including\nre-opening the ...
