[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\nVANCOUVER, Jan. 28 /CNW/ - Argentex Mining Corporation (TSX-V: ATX,\nOTCBB: AGXM) is pleased to provide an update on reconnaissance fieldwork\ncompleted at its Plata Leon property, which adjoins our Pinguino property to\nthe northwest. Recently completed fieldwork has identified multiple gossanous\noutcrops at Plata Leon that appear to be similar to outcrops located at\nPinguino which, when drilled to depth, were found to be deep-penetrating\nsulphide-rich polymetallic veins.\n\n\n"Argentex continues to use effective, low-cost methods to expand the\ndrill-defined polymetallic mineralization at the Pinguino deposit into\nadjacent areas along the Tranquilo Trend," said Ken Hicks, President of\nArgentex. "Our early-stage exploration model at Pinguino suggested there might\nbe a close association between the northwest-trending Tranquilo fault and\nlocal epithermal mineralization. This led us to acquire the 24,710-acre\n(10,000-hectare) Plata Leon property through staking. Our discovery of gossans\nand vein outcrops at Plata Leon supports our original exploration model and\nexpands the overall potential. We believe that this gives us an even greater\nfoothold in what is turning out to be a very prospective area."\n\n\nFollow-up exploration is currently being planned for the new veins\ndiscovered at Plata Leon. A total of 14 veins have been discovered in three\nareas. Two of those areas are located along the Tranquilo Trend and are\nassociated with possible intrusions at depth. Both Plata Leon and Pinguino are\nlocated on the Tranquilo Trend, a major regional structural break that\nArgentex believes is an important factor in the formation of epithermal\nmineralization in the area. Argentex is the largest holder of mineral rights\nalong the Tranquilo Trend.\n\n\nSelected grab samples from Plata Leon have been collected and submitted\nfor analysis. Analytical results are pending and further investigation is\nanticipated.\n\n\nQuality Assurance\n\n\nSamples selected for analysis are sent to Acme Analytical Laboratories'\nsample preparation lab in Mendoza, Argentina. From there sample pulps are sent\nto Santiago, Chile for fire assay gold analysis and to Vancouver, Canada for\nGroup 1DX multi-element MS-ICP analysis. Samples with over-limit zinc, lead,\nsilver and/or copper are reanalyzed using an ore-grade hig...
