AstraZeneca agrees obesity and T2D deal with CSPC
AstraZeneca has entered into a strategic collaboration with CSPC Pharmaceuticals to advance its weight management portfolio, acquiring global rights outside of China to eight programmes, including a clinical-ready asset, SYH2082, a long-acting GLP1R/GIPR agonist. This agreement grants AstraZeneca access to CSPC's AI-driven peptide drug discovery platform and LiquidGel once-monthly dosing technology, for which AstraZeneca will pay an upfront payment of $1.2 billion, with potential development and regulatory milestones up to $3.5 billion, plus commercialisation milestones and tiered royalties.
