He was Group Finance & Operations Director of Marks and Spencer plc from 2005 to 2010, before becoming the Chief Executive at Punch Taverns plc in 2010. Prior to that, Ian was Group Finance Director of Rank Group plc. Ian is currently a non-executive director and Chair of the Audit Committee at Betfair plc and a non-executive director of Punch Taverns plc. Ian was previously a non-executive director and Chair of the Audit Committee at Misys plc.\n \nBrian McBride, the Chairman of ASOS plc, commenting on the appointment said, \n \n\"Ian has a wealth of experience of being at the forefront of large UK listed consumer-led businesses and has strong understanding of both the retail industry and of technology.
