[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\nTORONTO, June 5 /CNW/ - Asian Television Network International Limited\n(ATN) (TSX-SAT), Canada's pioneer South Asian broadcaster and the country's\nlargest distributor of world class cricket announced today that it has secured\nthe Canadian broadcast rights for the Tri nation series between India,\nPakistan and Bangladesh. These matches will be shown live on CBN across Canada\nand rebroadcast on ATN-Cricket Plus.\n\n\nThese games take on an added importance to international cricket fans\nwith Bangladesh's upset victory over India at the 2007 World Cup. Each team\nhas a number of their World Cup players participating in this series as well\nas some outstanding young players keen for international recognition.\n\n\nConsistent performances in the domestic tournaments and in the Indian\nPremier League (IPL) helped Yusuf Pathan and Pragyan Ojha earn One-day berths\nin the Indian team for the tri-series in Bangladesh and the subsequent Asia\nCup in Pakistan. Pragyan and Yusuf are the only new faces in the 15-member\none-day squad. Yusuf was also a part of India's Twenty20 World Championship\nwinning team in South Africa last year.\n\n\nPakistan cricket selectors Monday included five fast bowlers in a 16-man\nsquad to take part in next week's one-day tri-series in Bangladesh. Fit-again\nMohammad Asif leads the strong pace attack, which also includes Umar Gul,\nSohail Tanveer, Rao Iftikhar and rookie left-arm paceman Wahab Riaz. Suspended\npaceman Shoaib Akhtar was not considered.\n\n\nBangladesh have named uncapped pace bowler Dollar Mahmud in a 14-man\nsquad for next month's one-day international series with India and Pakistan.\nBangladesh also recalled wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim and batsman Mehrab\nHossain for the Tri-Nation series.\n\n\nThese games will be a treat not only for cricket fans of the sub\ncontinent but will also entertain all cricket-loving people who have made\ntheir home in Canada.
