While the surge in new flavor \n options drove interest in vodka initially, flavored vodka sales are now \n declining across the board as consumer tastes shift.\n \n \n “Too many flavored vodkas hit the market at once, and a lot of them \n weren’t very good,” said ASCC President Chris Less. “Now, consumers are \n swinging hard in the other direction—choosing finely crafted vodkas \n distilled using quality ingredients.”\n \n \n While flavored vodkas saw cumulative sales lose 1.1 million cases in \n 2015, the high-end premium section of the category grew \n sales by more than 11 percent. That growth drove a vodka volume bump \n of nearly two percent overall last year.\n \n \n That’s good news for ASCC, whose RWB Vodka is made in the U.S.A. from \n Idaho russet potatoes and Rocky Mountain spring water using a unique, \n four-column distillation process. The homegrown vodka brand has received \n high marks for quality both at home and abroad, earning well more than a \n dozen gold medals in international blind taste tests. It is perhaps the \n only American-made vodka labeled “gluten-free.”\n \n \n By appealing to consumers’ changing tastes, ASCC hopes to become the \n next upstart spirits company to carve out a market share as demand heats \n up.
