[{"type":"text","content":"\n Ariana Resources PLC\n21 March 2007\n\n\n\n\n21 March 2007\nAIM: AAU\n\n POSITIVE DRILLING RESULTS FROM THE KINIK GOLD PROSPECT\n\nAriana Resources plc ('Ariana' or 'the Company'), the gold exploration company\nfocused on Turkey, is pleased to announce the results from the first eight drill\nholes completed on the Kinik prospect at the Company's 100% owned Ivrindi\nProject in Balikesir province, western Turkey.\n\n •Eight drill holes completed along a 750m long gold in soil anomaly\n •Intersections of 1.41 g/t Au over 6.2m, 4.17 g/t Au over 1.9m and 4.91 g/\n t Au over 1.7m\n •Gold grades up to 10.4g/t Au from channel sampling and 7.6g/t in drilling\n •Prospect discovered from Ariana's remote-sensing programme\n\nA field team from the Company's Turkish operating subsidiary, Galata Madencilik\nSan. ve Tic. Ltd. Sti. ('Galata'), have supervised the completion of a (HQ size\n63.5 mm) diamond-core drilling programme on the Kinik prospect. The drilling\nprogramme was designed to test the channel sampled area and the anomaly defined\nby a soil geochemical grid reported on earlier. The eight holes reported in this\nrelease total 423.30m and were drilled to depths of between 35 and 81 meters and\nangled between 50 and 75 degrees along a 750 metres section of the gold in soil\nanomaly. Drill hole collars were located 40-50 metres apart.\n\nAhead of commencing the drilling programme, Galata obtained all necessary\nenvironmental and forestry approvals from the provincial government in Balikesir\nand the State Government in Ankara.\n\nKerim Sener, Managing Director, commented:\n\n'We are encouraged by the results of this initial drilling programme on the\nKinik prospect which has confirmed the depth continuity of the mineralisation\nidentified from the surface. The geological setting of the prospect, the unusual\nstyle of mineralisation encountered and the new data obtained from drill\ntesting, suggests that additional drilling at this locality is warranted. Our\ntarget will be the definition of a near surface, bulk tonnage and low grade gold\nresource. We are now in the process of securing an RC-drilling rig for this\npurpose and we plan to restart work at this prospect during the summer of 2007.\nThis is another very encouraging result from our initial exploration programme\nand gives us additional confidence in our target iden...
