[{"type":"text","content":"\n \n\n\n\n ARIANA RESOURCES plc\n13 May 2009\nAIM / PLUS Markets: AAU\n\n HIGH GRADES FROM KEPEZ PROSPECT\n\nAriana Resources plc (\"Ariana\" or \"the Company\"), the gold\nexploration and development company focused on Turkey, is pleased to\nannounce the results of a new rock-chip and float sampling programme\nat its Kepez gold prospect in Balikesir Province, western Turkey.\n\nHighlights\n\n* Continuous zone of high-grades over sampled area, with an\n average of 7.14 g/t Au, and maximum of 41.8\n g/t Au\n* Sampled area shows grade continuity and covers 90m by 60m\n* Sub-surface extensions of the mineralised area to be\n tested by drilling\n* Potential for a short-term mining operation independent of\n Kiziltepe\n\nDr. Kerim Sener, Managing Director, commented:\n\"We are very encouraged by the latest results from the Kepez\nprospect. Earlier surface exploration had shown the potential for a\nsmall near surface resource at this location, which we felt deserved\nrevisiting following the commencement of trial mining operations at\nthe nearby Kiziltepe prospect.\n\n\"The latest sampling has confirmed the potential for high grades\nwithin the mineralised zone and we will now drill the area to\ndetermine the size of the in-situ resource. We believe that Kepez\nhas the potential to yield a small high-grade resource amenable to\ntrucking and processing off site.\"\n\nDetails of Programme\n\nThe Company has completed further surface sampling at the Kepez\nProspect (located 6.5km to the ENE of Kiziltepe), where previous\nsampling yielded high grades along a 100m portion of the Karakaya\nVein (Figure 1). This part of the vein shows evidence of previous\nmining activity and earlier drilling had encountered voids which\nprobably correspond to old workings. Ariana is currently\nre-evaluating this area for the purposes of identifying the potential\nfor a low-cost mining operation focused on near surface high grade\nmaterial.\n\nIn March 2009, a field team from Ariana's subsidiary, Galata\nMadencilik San. ve Tic. Ltd. Sti, undertook a comprehensive float and\nrock-chip sampling programme over an area covering the Karakaya Vein.\n This sampling programme was designed to confirm the distribution of\nnear surface mineralisation over the central portion of the vein from\nwhich earlier channel samples, which were taken across and partly\ndown-dip ...
