[{"type":"text","content":"\n Ariana Resources PLC\n10 January 2006\n\n\n\n10 January 2006\nAIM: AAU\n\n WIDE GOLD ZONE DEFINED AT ARZU NORTH, KIZILTEPE PROSPECT\n SECOND ADJACENT ANOMALY\n\nAriana Resources plc ('Ariana' or 'the Company'), the gold exploration company\nfocused exclusively on Turkey, announces further positive results from its\nKiziltepe gold prospect in Balikesir province, western Turkey. A wide zone of\ngold mineralisation has been defined along at least 240m of strike length from\nchannel sampling undertaken on the Arzu North vein.\n\n * 50m wide gold mineralized envelope defined along at least 240m of strike\n length\n * Intersection of 1.25g/t Au over 17.5m: parallel vein returned peak value\n of 14.2 g/t\n * Adjacent 900m by 300m gold in soil anomaly to be tested\n\nArzu North Vein\nSince November, a field team from the Company's Turkish operating subsidiary,\nGalata Madencilik San. ve Tic. Ltd. Sti. ('Galata'), has completed a series of\nseven trenches across the Arzu North vein which have been channel sampled at\nregular 1m intervals, cut using a diamond saw. The channels (up to 55m in\nlength) were spaced at approximately 40m intervals along a strike length of\n240m. All seven channels intersected gold mineralisation within a series of\nparallel quartz veins, stockwork material and andesite host rock.\n\nHigher grade gold intercepts include 1.25 g/t over 17.5m, 1.54 g/t over\n16.5m,1.44 g/t over 15.6m, 1.23 g/t over 14.6m, and 2.12 g/t over 12.0m (true\nthicknesses). The system is open in all directions, with several trenches\nterminating in mineralisation. Vein textures and trace element data are\nindicative of the upper part of an epithermal system and, supported by historic\ndrill data, gold grades are expected to increase with depth. Selected\nintersections from the Arzu North vein are presented in Table 1 below.\n\nSoil Anomaly & Ceylan Vein\nThe Arzu North vein occurs immediately to the east of a large gold in soil\nanomaly up to 900m long and typically up to 300m wide, as defined by a >100 ppb\ngold contour of historical data that was acquired with the Kiziltepe prospect.\nMapping of the area has identified at least one parallel quartz vein (Ceylan\nvein). Systematic composite rock-chip sampling across the Ceylan vein and\nstockwork, which averages between 1m and 2m in outcrop, has identified\nconsistent gold minera...
