Northern Iron Corp. engages Roscoe Postle Associates Inc. as resource calculation consultants for the Karas property

VANCOUVER, Oct. 12, 2011 /CNW/ - Northern Iron Corp. (TSXV: NFE) ("Northern") is pleased to announce the appointment of Roscoe Postle Associates Inc.("RPA") to conduct a resource estimate and supporting NI 43-101 Technical Report on Northern's Karas Project, located near Red Lake, Ontario.

"RPA has extensive work experience in providing services at all stages of project development from exploration and resource evaluation through scoping, prefeasibility studies and feasibility studies. This experience will help ensure rapid completion of the NI 43-101 Technical Report on the Karas property," said Basil Botha, President & CEO of Northern.

ABOUT NORTHERN IRON

Northern Iron is a mineral resource company engaged in reviving a past producing iron mine and concurrent exploration of high quality iron ore resources in the Red Lake mining division, district of Kenora, Ontario, Canada.
