[{"type":"text","content":"\n Ardana PLC\n03 December 2007\n\n\n ARDANA PLC ANNOUNCES OUTCOME OF STRATEGIC REVIEW\n\n\nEdinburgh, UK, December 3 2007: Ardana Plc (LSE:ARA), the pharmaceutical company\nfocused on improving human reproductive health, today announces the initial\nfindings of the strategic review of the Company's activities.\n\nThe review has placed considerable emphasis on the ongoing development and\ncommercialisation of the Company's late stage products in order to maximise\nshareholder value in an acceptable period of time. A key feature of the review\nis ensuring that any further investment is directed towards those areas with the\ngreatest potential return whilst conserving cash.\n\nThe highlights of the review are as follows:\n\nFocus on key clinical development projects and near term commercialisation\nproducts\n\n o Teverelix LA in prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and\n endometriosis, in all markets\n\n o Testosterone Cream for the treatment of hypogonadism with particular\n focus on the US market\n\n o ARD-07, growth hormone secretagogue in the diagnosis of growth hormone\n deficiency, in the United States\n\n o ARD-07, growth hormone secretagogue in adults and children requiring\n treatment with growth hormone, in particular idiopathic short stature in\n children, in all markets\n\nProjects with lower priority placed on hold\n\n o ARD-07 in the diagnosis of growth hormone deficiency in Europe due to\n the probable requirement for an additional comparator study and the \n relatively small size of the opportunity\n\n o Development of terbutaline vaginal gel\n\n o Development of the fizzy tablet platform technology\n\nStrengthening of Business Development Function\n\nThere will be an increased focus on creating business development opportunities\nfor the Company's most attractive clinical development projects and near term\ncommercialisation candidates highlighted above. In order to augment Ardana's\nbusiness development capability the Company has appointed John Dawson as SVP\nCorporate Strategy for a defined period. John's most recent appointment was as\nCFO and Head of Business Development, Europe for Cephalon Inc. where he served\nfor 11 years in various senior roles including Vice President Pharmaceutical\nOperations, Europe.
