[{"type":"text","content":"\n Ardana PLC\n29 June 2006\n\n ARDANA APPOINTS NEW NON-EXECUTIVE\n TO THE BOARD\n\n\n\nEdinburgh, UK, 29 June, 2006; Ardana, the company focused on improving human\nreproductive health, today announces that Huw Jones has been appointed as a\nnon-executive director.\n\n\n\nHuw Jones was awarded a PhD in Pharmacology 1986. After a short period of\npostdoctoral research, he joined Smith Kline & French UK in a commercial role in\n1986. During his eleven-year career at SK&F and SmithKline Beecham he migrated\nthrough a number of sales, marketing, business development and new product\ndevelopment roles of increasing seniority. He was appointed UK Marketing\nDirector in 1996.\n\n\n\nHuw moved to Elan Corporation PLC in 1997. In 1998 he was appointed\nVice-President and Managing Director, UK and in 2001 was appointed Senior Vice\nPresident, Northern Europe, responsible for operations in Germany, France,\nIreland, the UK and for establishing companies in Benelux.\n\n\n\nIn 2002 he co-founded Daffodil Consulting LLP which specialises in providing\nstrategic advice on Europe to biopharmaceutical companies. Daffodil Consulting\nwas asked to establish the European affiliate for CV Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ,\nCVTX) in late 2002. Huw served as President, Europe, for CV Therapeutics between\n2002 and 2006. He is also Non-Executive Chairman of Ashbourne Pharmaceuticals.\n\n\n\nMaureen Lindsay, CEO of Ardana, said:\n\n\n\n'Huw brings considerable sales and marketing expertise to our Board and we are\ndelighted that he is joining us.
