Net loss attributable to Amneal Pharmaceuticals, Inc. of $12 million in the second quarter compared to a net loss of $17 million in prior year period, reflects higher gross profit and lower interest expense, partially offset by higher operating expenses related to AvKARE. Diluted loss per share in the second quarter was $0.08 compared to a loss of $0.13 in the prior year period.\n\n\nAdjusted EBITDA(1) in the second quarter of 2020 was $101 million, an increase of 9% compared to the prior year period, primarily due to higher gross profit partially offset by higher operating expenses. Adjusted net income(1) in the second quarter was $38 million, an increase of 42% compared to the prior year period, and primarily reflects higher adjusted EBITDA(1) and lower interest expense, partially offset by higher non-controlling interests due to the acquisition of 65% of AvKARE.
