The facility, expected to be operational by 2025, will support the growing demand for Amgen's medicines that treat serious illnesses such as cancer and heart disease.\n\"Amgen is adding to North Carolina's strong economic growth with the addition of its newest manufacturing plant to our already robust biomanufacturing ecosystem,\" said Roy Cooper, Governor of North Carolina. \"We welcome Amgen's choice to build a state-of-the-art facility in our world-renowned Research Triangle region, bringing more than 350 high-quality new jobs to our state.\"\nAmgen's facility will utilize new technologies that maximize efficiency and help ensure the ability to produce a broad range of medicines that Amgen offers to patients. The new facility will also be built to exacting environmental standards, consistent with the company's goal of reducing water usage and waste and achieving carbon neutrality by 2027.
