[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\n\nMONTREAL, Nov. 21 /CNW Telbec/ - Amex Exploration Inc. (AMX - TSX-V) is\npleased to announce the beginning of a first phase of drilling on high grade\nbase metal massive sulfide Great Plains showing located on the eastern portion\nof its 100% owned Normetal property in the Abitibi region of Quebec, Canada.\nThis first phase of drilling will be starting with a three drill hole program\ntotaling a minimum of 1,200 meters.\nThe Great Plains showing was discovered from surface prospecting and\nfollow-up drilling during the 1974-75 campaign by Great Plains Exploration\ninc. This showing is considered as an Archean volcanogenic massive sulfide\nmineralization such as the old polymetallic Normetal mine located at about\n20 km to the west of the showing. The Normetal mine has produced some\n11 Million Tons at 2.15% Cu, 5.15% Zn, 0.55 gpt Au and 45.25 gpt Ag.\nThis showing would be located just north of the stratigraphic horizon of\nthe Normetal mine, precisely in the lower member of the Normetal Formation\ncomposed of a sequence of intermediate lavas. The intercepts of massive\nsulfides cut by drilling are situated at the interface between a mafic\nvolcanic unit and a felsic tuffaceous unit. Many mineralized intersections\nwith significant values were reported including the following best results:\n\n>\n\nIn the mid 90's, Falconbridge optioned the property and execute some\nadditional holes at depth to test potential extensions without to much\nsuccess. However, down hole geophysics surveys, also executed by Falconbridge,\nhas detected off hole anomalies indicating the presence of a conductor at\ndepth and at about 150 meters to the east. More recently, an airborne MegaTem\nsurvey has also detected and confirmed the same conductor.\nThe proposed drill program is to verify the untested off hole conductor\nlocated at a depth of 250 meters with three drill holes at a spacing of\n60 meters between the holes. The results should be available around\nmid-December.\n\nThis press release has been prepared and approved by Pierre O'Dowd as\nQualified Person in accordance with 43-101 regulation. Mr. O'Dowd will also\nsupervise the drill campaign.\n%SEDAR: 00004815EF\n\n\n","length":2542,"tagName":"div"}]
