(TSX:ARG) (\"Amerigo\" or\nthe \"Company\") announced today that, further to the Company's May 26, 2006\npress release, El Teniente has advised the Company that it will be necessary\nto restrict the tailings flow between the Company's operations and El\nTeniente's Caren tailings impoundment for a period of approximately four\nmonths. El Teniente has requested this volume reduction because of\nenvironmental concerns, both with respect to the volume of water in the\ntailings being sent to Caren and the structural condition of the bridge that\nforms part of the tailings launder downstream from the Company's plant.\nIn the course of reviewing the condition of the tailings launder last\nweek, El Teniente diverted the fresh tailings flow away from the Company's\nplant for a period of seven days.\nThis volume reduction will have a negative effect on the Company's 2006\ncopper and molybdenum production. The Company estimates that third quarter\nproduction will be approximately 20% less than last quarter.
