[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\nTORONTO, June 12 /CNW/ - Coniagas Resources Limited (the "Company")\n(TSX-V: CNY) is pleased to announce that it has appointed Patrick Highsmith as\nPresident and Chief Executive Officer of the Company effective June 12, 2009.\n\n\nMr. Highsmith is a Geochemist/Geologist with 20 years of multi-commodity\nminerals industry experience. He holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in\nGeological Engineering and Economic Geology/Geochemistry from the Colorado\nSchool of Mines. Mr. Highsmith brings experience from more than 200 mines and\nprojects in over 20 countries, and he has been directly involved with numerous\ndeals, project start-ups, and financings. Mr. Highsmith has held positions in\nmining, exploration, and business development with Rio Tinto, BHP Billiton,\nand Newmont Mining. He also served as Chief Geochemist and US Manager for ALS\nChemex Labs. Most recently he was Global Manager - Exploration Business\nDevelopment with Newmont before leaving in 2008 to found Intuitive\nExploration, Inc. and the BitterRoot Group LLC.\n\n\nMr. Highsmith will be replacing Mr. Frederic W. R. Leigh, the Company's\ninterim President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr Leigh has also resigned from\nhis role as a Director of the Company.
