Vancouver, BC - September 11, 2012, Altair Ventures Incorporated (the "Company" or "Altair") (TSXV: AVX) announces that the Company has changed its name to Altair Gold Inc. effective September 10, 2012 pursuant to the Articles of the Company and as approved by the Company's board of directors.

The Company's common shares will commence trading on the TSX Venture Exchange under the Company's new name at the opening of trading on Tuesday, September 11, 2012. The trading symbol of the Company has not changed. The new CUSIP number for the Company's common shares is 021370101.
