(\"Alacer\") [TSX: ASR and ASX: AQG] is pleased to announce an update to its Mineral Resources and Reserves\n estimates.  Provided below are key aspects of Alacer's updated Mineral\n Resources and Reserves statement (as at December 31, 2012) and some\n comparisons to the previous statement (as at December 31, 2011):\n\n\n\nAlacer:\n\n\n\n1.2 million ounce increase in attributable Measured and Indicated (\"M+I\") Resources1 to 11.7 million ounces2.\n\n\nAttributable Mineral Reserves unchanged at 5.3 million ounces.\n\n\n\nÇöpler (figures reflect Alacer's 80% ownership):\n\n\n\n0.73 million ounce increase in Çöpler M+I Resources increased to 6.57 million ounces.\n\n\n1.05 million ounce increase in Çöpler Inferred Resources to 1.25 million ounces.\n\n\nÇöpler Mineral Reserve unchanged at 3.47 million ounces.\n\n\n\nHigginsville:\n\n\n\nHigginsville M+I Resources unchanged at 1.26 million ounces.\n\n\n7% grade increase for Higginsville Mineral Reserves to 3.7g/t gold due to a greater\n contribution from the Helios and Artemis orebodies.\n\n\nHigginsville Mineral Reserves total 0.83 million ounces.\n\n\n\nSouth Kalgoorlie Operations (\"SKO\"):\n\n\n\n0.51 million ounce increase in SKO M+I Resources to 3.32 million ounces.\n\n\nSKO Mineral Reserves total 0.67 million ounces and now include higher\n grade reserves in the SBS28 area and a new HBJ underground Mineral\n Reserve.\n\n\n\n\nDavid Quinlivan, President and CEO of Alacer, stated: \"Total resources increased by 20% or 2.8 million ounces during 2012. \n Reserves have largely remained unchanged at all three operations even\n though Alacer mined approximately 0.5 million ounces of contained gold\n during 2012.\n\n\nThe Çöpler Mineral Resource released in September 2012 is being utilized\n in the current studies evaluating and optimizing a staged development\n approach for Çöpler. A new sulfide Mineral Reserve based on the current\n Mineral Resource is planned to be published per NI 43-101 reporting\n requirements when sulfide processing studies are progressed to the\n required level for reporting.\n\n\nFor our Australian mines, it is notable that the reserve grade has\n increased for both Higginsville and SKO.
