(NASDAQ: AKTS) (“Akoustis” or the “Company”), an integrated device manufacturer (IDM) of patented bulk acoustic wave (BAW) high-band RF filters for mobile and other wireless applications, announced today that it has shipped two new Wi-Fi 7 customer designed BAW filters to its tier-2 5G mobile and Wi-Fi access point (AP) RF front-end module customer. The two filters were developed using Akoustis’ advanced wafer foundry process designed for production in its manufacturing facility in Canandaigua, NY. The filters have been developed for the AP market by the customer using the Akoustis product development kit (PDK), to significantly reduce time-to-market for XBAW® products and allow the customer to develop proprietary resonators and filters for both broad-based and specific applications. The two new filters were developed by the customer to target the emerging Wi-Fi 7 market with center frequencies at 5.5 GHz and 6.5 GHz. The customer’s target AP programs are expected to use multi-user multiple-in, multiple-out architectures for high-speed data throughput. Dave Aichele, EVP of Business Development at Akoustis, stated, “Our design win activity in Wi-Fi remains one of the most significant drivers of revenue and unit growth for Akoustis, and we are experiencing strong interest in our growing Wi-Fi 7 portfolio, as well as our ability to provide customized solutions with our expanding foundry capabilities.” Mr. Aichele continued, “We have multiple consumer, enterprise-class, and service-provider class Wi-Fi customers, and we expect increased interest in our Wi-Fi 7 filter solutions as we iterate higher-performing versions of our existing standard products, introduce new products, and offer customized solutions through the expansion of our foundry business across Wi-Fi and 5G mobile.” Akoustis continues to experience strong demand and a growing sales funnel for its Wi-Fi, 5G mobile, and 5G infrastructure products, as well as its new XBAW®/SAW resonator and oscillator products, and semiconductor back-end services.
