Progress Update: CoalSwitch® Commercial Deployment

Active Energy Group plc has announced progress on its CoalSwitch® technology, with senior management visiting Poland to advance discussions with ICE and assess commercial deployment opportunities in the municipal heat and power sector. A large privatised municipal CHP operator has formally invited ICE, in partnership with AEG, to locate the first ICE/CoalSwitch® validation plant within an existing industrial building adjacent to its operational CHP boilers. This co-location will allow for validation under real-world conditions, with the plant expected to be operational within approximately six months. Key outcomes include agreement in principle to commission the validation plant, establish an off-take framework, develop a joint commercial framework for scale-up, and progress documentation for a potential larger-scale facility, subject to approvals and funding.
