[{"type":"text","content":"\n RNS Number : 8763X Active Energy Group PLC 14 December 2010  \n\nAIM: AEG\n14 December 2010\nACTIVE ENERGY GROUP PLC\n(\"Active Energy\" or \"the Group\")\n \nContract Win with the National Trust\n \nActive Energy is pleased to announce that it has signed a new contract with the National Trust for the provision of its electricity saving product, the VoltageMaster.  The contract was secured together with Active Energy's partner, SSE Contracting, the mechanical and electrical contracting subsidiary of Scottish and Southern Energy plc.\n \nThe VoltageMaster voltage optimisation technology, which reduces energy consumption and CO₂ emissions in commercial buildings, is to be installed at Penrhyn Castle on the Menai Strait in North Wales.  Penrhyn Castle is a substantial neo-Norman castle, famous for its art collection and its one-ton slate bed made for Queen Victoria.  In 2009/10, Penrhyn Castle was the eleventh most visited National Trust paid-entry property, with over 231,000 visitors.  \n \nThe VoltageMaster technology is expected to reduce Penrhyn Castle's consumption of electricity by at least 10% and its carbon emissions by over 25 tonnes a year. \n \nThe National Trust is Europe's largest conservation body, working to protect over 350 historic houses, gardens and ancient monuments.  The installation of the VoltageMaster product at Penrhyn Castle is part of the National Trust's stated aim to reduce its use of fossil fuel energy by 50% by 2020, using energy saving and renewable energy measures.  This process is being led by the National Trust's Environment Team, based in North Wales, which acts as expert consultants to support decision-making across all properties in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.  Active Energy is working together with the Environment Team to assess the potential for further energy savings.\n \nExecutive Chairman of Active Energy, Philip Palmer, commented,\n \n\"We are delighted that the National Trust has chosen our VoltageMaster product to help reduce its carbon footprint.  This initial contract is expected to reduce Penrhyn Castle's energy consumption by at least 10%, representing a material reduction in its use of fossil fuel energy and its CO₂ emissions.\n \nThe National Trust is committed to continued improv...
