Titan Wood also took home the award for\nSustainable Production Technology.\n\nThis year's awards were opened by the Dutch Prime Minister, Jan Peter\nBalkenende, and are granted by the Dutch Government bi-annually to reward\nsustainability innovation in the Netherlands.\n\n\nWim Quik, one of the judges, commented: 'Titan Wood's Accoya(R) wood\nmodification process is truly innovative. Thanks to this production technology\nAccoya(R) wood has become a real alternative to increasingly scarce tropical\ntimber. The ability to make high performance timber from fast-growing,\nsustainable wood species will help to protect threatened species and\nrainforests.
